i’ve revamped the interface of two-year-old popurls.tv, an experimental sub-site that displays the traffic on the popurls network in real-time and lists the most read stories of the hour.

in addition to facebook, twitter, et al. you can now seamlessly share to your posterous account via popurls. if you’re logged in, click user > sharing profile and enter your credentials. as soon as you hover over a story and click »share« you’ll instantly find the link on your posterous site. in addtion, you can now use a more secure way to share on twitter without having to enter your username or password.

if you follow the popurls twitter bot you’ll find some occasional stories marked with #positweets – a selection of handpicked links with enjoyable content, which in turn gets aggregated on positweets.com together with tweets from other renowned blogs such as boingboing or trendhunter. special thanks to MINI for supporting popurls and curating this site.

i’m happy to announce that popurls is now integrated with jolicloud, the new internet operating system of choice. popurls will run in an exclusive layout for ultra-mobile netbooks that is optimized for smaller screens and the speed of mobile internet connections. more infos on the the jolicloud blog.

if you prefer the prior version of the popular today section you can now disable the twitter news block via the customize menu.

here’s a quick update on recent changes to popurls mobile editions:

• iphone & android now include a native search feature for all real-time buzz (a mobile version of search.popurls.com)
• popular twitter stories have been added to the regular mobile & blackberry edition

on a side note, the regular mobile site currently uses a gateway to reformat web sites for phone browsers. given the increasing capabilities of those devices i will soon change all links to go directly to the target sites – let me know if you’re a heavy user and think that you might run into problems with that.
